Super Healthy Green Smoothies

Green Smoothies are the best way to lose weight and get healthy. They are any combination of green vegetables and fruits, blended into a smoothie. It really does turn out green but sometimes more of a reddish brown color depending on what you put into it. Don’t let that scare you from trying it. I like to use as big a variety of vegetables as I can and minimal amounts of fruit, just enough to help it taste a little better. Fruit is healthy for you and you do need some fruit in your diet but keep it minimal since fruits are higher in sugar and they really aren’t as healthy for you as your deep green veggies.

What Makes Green Smoothies so healthy?
Other than the variety of healthy produce in each glass of green smoothie? Well the fact that you’re blending all your vegetables helps the body to access its nutrition much easier. Rather than waste time on digestion it can focus more on nutrition absorption at a cellular level so you get more from every vegetable and fruit you take in. It’s a great way to help lower your cholesterol, because you’re eating healthy and taking in plenty of natural plant fiber, fiber is the key ingredient that helps naturally lower cholesterol. Green Smoothies will help make you healthier in many other ways; boosts immune system, can lower blood pressure, promotes healthy bowel functions, reduces harmful toxins in the body, reduces the risk of kidney infections, plus so much more. Green Smoothies feeds the body what it craves.

You’ll quickly notice how much better you feel and how your energy levels increase. Others will notice how much better you look and wonder what’s your secret. Don’t be surprised if someone tell you, you look so fresh and glowingly healthy, it happened to my husband on his first day of drinking green smoothies.

Sorry for not posting this sooner…

My husband and I are on Day three of what I call the “7 Day Veggie Cleanse Challenge”. It’s a super low calorie “diet” where we eat nothing but raw fruits and veggies for 7 days. We have Green Smoothies as our three meals and all the fruits and vegetables we want to snack on in between (keeping our fruit intake at a minimum since they are packed with sugar). We hope to naturally cleanse our bodies of most of the harmful chemicals and toxins we’ve been eating up till now.

** Two of my meals are Herbalife Meal Replacement Shakes instead of green smoothies because I find they keep me satisfied for longer and curb my craving better. I plan to stay on them for two meals a day till I lose all my excess weight.
